We are located about one hour east of Ludington and Lake Michigan just off Highway M-10, east of Baldwin and 15 miles west of US-131.Within Yates Township you'll find a number of beautiful lakes including Paradise Lake, Tank Lake and Lake Idlewild along with the Middle Branch of the Pere Marquette River. Idlewild, Michigan can also be found in Yates Township, one of the country's leading historic African-American resort communities. Since the mid-1970's Idlewild has been listed as a National Historic Register Community, and is also a National Enterprise Community.Under the leadership of Yates Township and our State of Michigan partners, efforts are taking place to revitalize our community, grow cultural/heritage tourism, create related economic growth and improve the quality of life.
